How It Works

Registration

To participate we need you to register with your email address, a username and some personal information. This personal information allows you to add incidents at your residential address. Additionally it also allows for our participating members to contact you in the event we have additional information relating to your incidents.

Using the Map

Urbany runs almost entirely from a map view, therefore it is essential to share your current location in your browser when using the application. Don't worry, we do not monitor your location - it is merely used to display incidents where you are currently positioned.

Adding Incidents

Urbany allows any user to create incidents, however there are some key differences between Public users, Patreon users and Registered Organisation and their associated industries.
  • Public users can create incidents that relate to their registered address only, although these incidents will be visible upon creation, they will need to be verified by an authoritive organisation.
  • Official Patreon Users can create incidents for any location. Their incidents will be automatically verified by themselves as a paid subscriber.
  • Registered Organisations can create incidents any location, they will also have the ability to verify incidents within their industry.
  • Verified incidents will associate the incident with the industry, thus incorporating this data into industry related reports.

Reporting

Our goal is to provide intelligent reporting and services for industries that can assist the community and its well-being. This can only be achieved from the public and participating organisations capturing incident information into the Urbany system.

Future Developments

The Urbany Application is versatile enough to build new features and tools. As such we have a host of additional features that we will be offering the public and participating organisations in due course.
